Men's golf places eighth at Earlham Spring Invite

Defiance freshman Spencer Clingaman tied for ninth place at the Earlham Spring Invite over the weekend.

The Basics

• The event was hosted by Earlham College at the Richmond Elks Country Club in Richmond, Ind.
• Asbury University won the event with a team score of 592 (290-302).
• Defiance had a team score of 650 (331-319).
• Asbury's Marcos de Ezcurra placed first with a score of 140 after shooting a 69 on day one and a 71 on day two.
• Clingaman tied for ninth with a score of 152 (78-74).

Notable Performances

• Sophomore Dan Burgoyne (89-76) and freshman Dane Harker (84-81) tied for 42nd with each player shooting a 165.
• Freshman Kaleb Reiss tied for 49th with a 168 (80-88).

Up Next

• The Yellow Jackets will wrap up the season at the HCAC Championship hosted by Mount St. Joseph University at Miami Whitewater Forest Golf Course in Harrison, Ohio. The three-round event will start on April 29 and conclude on May 1.
