Men’s golf completes first 18 holes at Belterra Golf Club
FLORENCE, Ind. – After the opening round of the Battle at Belterra on Saturday, the Defiance College men’s golf team trails three other squads. Hosted by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference’s Franklin College, the two-day, 36-hole event is being played at the par-72, 6,504-yard Belterra Golf Club.

Hosted by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's Franklin College, the two-day, 36-hole event is being played at the par-72, 6,504-yard Belterra Golf Club.
Defiance shot 355 (+67) on day one. Franklin leads the tournament at 313, followed by HCAC foe Hanover College at 319 and Spalding University at 328.
On the Tom Fazio-designed layout, Hayden Clingaman fired a 79 to lead the Yellow Jackets and stands in a tie for seventh place, just four shots off the lead. He was one of eight players in a field of 28 to break 80.
DC concludes tournament play with 18 more holes on Sunday.
