Men’s golf picked to finish eighth in 2021 HCAC preseason poll
CARMEL, Ind. – The Defiance College men’s golf team is picked to finish eighth among the nine Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference squads, according to the Spring 2021 HCAC Men’s Golf Preseason Poll. The poll was comprised in a vote of the conference’s head coaches and released by the HCAC office on Tuesday morning.
CARMEL, Ind. – The Defiance College men's golf team is picked to finish eighth among the nine Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference squads, according to the Spring 2021 HCAC Men's Golf Preseason Poll. The poll was comprised in a vote of the conference's head coaches and released by the HCAC office on Tuesday morning.
Defiance, under head coach Allen Curtiss, finished with 17 points in the poll, nine ahead of Anderson University. Transylvania University received 61 points to claim the top spot and is followed by Franklin College (48), Hanover College (45), Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (40), Mount St. Joseph University (38), Bluffton University (31) and Earlham College (27).
The Yellow Jackets also had three players named to the 2021 HCAC Athletes to Watch list in senior Hayden Clingaman (Stryker, Ohio/Stryker), freshman Dan Burgoyne (Twinsburg, Ohio/Twinsburg) and freshman Ethan Mullins (Louisville, Ky./Male).
Last Saturday, DC opened its spring season at the Music City Shootout just outside of Nashville, Tennessee. This weekend, Defiance is slated to take part in the Franklin College Tournament at Belterra Golf Club in Florence, Indiana.
