Defiance Men's Golf Finished 13th at Rose-Hulman Invite
TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Defiance College men's golf team continued its spring schedule at the Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology Spring Invitational and placed 13th overall at Hulman Links Golf Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Defiance College men's golf team continued its spring schedule at the Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology Spring Invitational and placed 13th overall at Hulman Links Golf Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
The Yellow Jackets posted a two-day total of 670 strokes (318+352=670) to place 13th out of 15 teams. Transylvania (Ky.) University and Kalamazoo (Mich.) College both shot a team total of 603 strokes, but Transy won the tiebreaker to take top honors. Mount St. Joseph University came in third with 605 total strokes (298+307=605).
Individually for DC, junior Alex Miday (Canton/St. Thomas) led the way with 153 strokes (72+81=153) and placed in a tie for 14th overall. Senior Zach Weber (Ottoville) posted the second lowest score at 166 strokes (81+85=166) and was followed by junior Adam McGinnis (Bloomville/Buckeye Central) in third with 178 strokes (85+93=178).
Sophomore Drake Moening (Defiance) rounded out the team eligible scores with a two-day total of 188 strokes (95+93=188). Senior Jake Tinsley (Eaton) shot an opening round of 80 strokes, but withdrew in the second round.
Defiance is scheduled to travel to Seymour, Ind. for the Hanover (Ind.) College Invitational next Saturday-Sunday, Apr. 8-9 at Shadowood Golf Course.
