Yellow Jackets Fourth After First Two Rounds of HCAC Champ
SEYMOUR, IND. -- The Defiance College men's golf team is currently fourth after the first two rounds of the 2016 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships that were hosted by Hanover (Ind.) College at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour, Ind.

Individually, sophomore Alex Miday (Canton/St. Thomas) leads all golfers following rounds of 68 and 72 strokes for a two-day toal of 140 strokes.
As a team, the Yellow Jackets totaled 602 strokes (295+307=602) following the first two rounds to place fourth of eight teams. Transylvania (Ky.) University leads the event with a team-total of 597 strokes (297+300=597). Host school Hanover is second at 599 strokes (302+297=599) and Mount St. Joseph University rounds out the top three with 601 strokes (302+299=601).
In addition to Miday, DC had two golfers place in the top-five that included junior Jake Tinsley (Eaton) who fired rounds of 73 and 72 strokes to place third overall with a total of 145 strokes (73+72=145). Sophomore Tyson Bostelman (Archbold) was third on the team with 156 strokes (76+80=156) and fellow sophomore Adam McGinnis (Bloomville/Buckeye Central) was fourth at 161 strokes (78+83=161). Junior Zach Weber (Ottoville) carded a first round total of 78 strokes, but withdrew from the second round.
Defiance will play the final two rounds next Saturday and Sunday (Apr. 30 - May 1). Manchester (Ind.) University will serve as host with both rounds being played at Honeywell Golf Course in Wabash, Ind.
