Men's Golf Finishes Tied for Second Final Fall Tournament
NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. -- The Defiance College men's golf team placed in a tie for second overall in its final match of the fall season at the Manchester (Ind.) University Fall Invitational in North Manchester.
NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. -- The Defiance College men's golf team placed in a tie for second overall in its final match of the fall season at the Manchester (Ind.) University Fall Invitational in North Manchester.
The Yellow Jackets shot a single-round total of 308 strokes to tie for second. The University of St. Francis (Ind.) captured the team title with 297 strokes. Transylvania (Ky.) University was tied with DC with a team score of 308 strokes.
Sophomore Alex Miday (Canton/St. Thomas) was the top individual for DC with a round of 74 strokes which put him in a tie for third. Fellow sophomore Tyson Bostelman (Archbold) and junior Derek Lucas (Eaton) also finished in the top-ten rounds of 76 strokes and 78 strokes to place sixth and 10th respectively. Junior Jake Tinsley (Eaton) carded a round of 80 strokes and sophomore Adam McGinnis (Bloomville/Buckeye Central) shot a round of 82 strokes.
In addition, juinor Zach Weber (Ottoville) and freshman Drake Moening (Defiance) both competed in the event and had rounds of 85 strokes and 88 strokes.
Defiance ends its fall season with the Manchester Invitational. The Yellow Jackets will resume the 2015-16 season on Mar. 19-20 at the Mount St. Joseph Invitational in Cincinnati.
