Yellow Jacket Men's Golf Finishes Seventh at HCAC Champ

KNIGHTSTOWN, IND. -- The Defiance College men's golf team concluded the 2015 season with the final two rounds making up the 2015 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship.
Following rounds three and four at Royal Hylands Golf Club in Knightstown, Ind., the Yellow Jackets finished the overall event in seventh place with a cumulative score of 1,276 strokes.
Sophomore Zach Weber (Ottoville) led DC with rounds of 77 and 81 strokes to end the tournament with an overall score of 310 strokes (77+75+77+81=310) to place in 12th place overall. Freshman Alex Miday (Canton/St. Thomas) finished a stroke behind Weber with a score of 311 strokes after rounds of 76 and 77 this weekend (82+76+76+77=311). Freshman Tyson Bostelman (Archbold) ended rounds three and four with 160 strokes and combined with last week's scores, he finished with 328 total strokes (88+80+83+77=328) to finish third on the team. Sophomore Jake Tinsley (Eaton) rounded out the team qualifying scores with a four-round total 335 strokes (82+82+80+91=335).
Also competing this weekend was sophomore Derek Lucas (Eaton) and finished with a two-day total 166 strokes (79+87=166).
