Men's Golf Beats Hanibal-LaGrange (Mo.)
HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The Defiance College men's golf team wrapped up its southern training trip with a 347-361 victory against Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) University in a dual competition at Palmetto Hall-Cupp Course in Hilton Head, S.C.
HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The Defiance College men's golf team wrapped up its southern training trip with a 347-361 victory against Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) University in a dual competition at Palmetto Hall-Cupp Course in Hilton Head, S.C.
Individually, the Yellow Jackets were led by sophomore Jake Tinsley (Eaton) who shot an 18-hole total of 81 strokes. Freshman Alex Miday (Canton/St. Thomas) was second with 84 strokes and was followed by sophomore Zach Weber (Ottoville) who carded an 88. Sophomore Derek Lucas (Eaton) and freshman Adam McGinnis (Bloomville/Buckeye Central) were tied for the fourth-lowest scores at 94 strokes each. Senior Rick Girona (McClure/Otsego) rounded out the DC competitors with a round of 95 strokes respectively.
Defiance will next compete in the Mount St. Joseph University Invitational next Saturday-Sunday, Mar. 21-22 at the Aston Oaks Golf Club in North Bend. The first round on Saturday is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
