Ross, Jones Lead Men’s Golf to Fourth-Place Finish
N. MANCHESTER, Ind. – Mike Ross (79-81) and Brian Jones (83-77) both carded a total score of 160 to lead the Defiance College men’s golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Manchester Invitational.
N. MANCHESTER, Ind. – Mike Ross (79-81) and Brian Jones (83-77) both carded a total score of 160 to lead the Defiance College men's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Manchester Invitational. As a team, the Yellow Jackets carded a final score of 646 (325-321) over two rounds.
Matt Gehring (81-82) and Hurst Talbott (82-81) each posted a two-round total of 163 to continue the scoring for DC. Rounding out the varsity scoring was Josh DeGroff with a total of 188 (96-92).
Defiance also had two individuals competing at the event. Trevor Ault posted a score of 168 (79-89), while Jared James finished the tournament with a 177 (86-91).
Transylvania captured the team title in the 11-team field with a score of 607 (303-304). Medalist honors went to Transylvania's Justin Tereshko, who shot 145 (75-70).
With the conclusion of the tournament, the men's golf team ends its fall season. The team will return to the links in the spring.
