Ross Leads Yellow Jackets to Fifth-Place Finish
WAUSEON, Ohio – Defiance College sophomore Mike Ross earned all-tournament team honors at the Jon Spiess Memorial Tournament with round of 77 to lead the Yellow Jackets to a fifth-place overall finish.
WAUSEON, Ohio – Defiance College sophomore Mike Ross earned all-tournament team honors at the Jon Spiess Memorial Tournament with round of 77 to lead the Yellow Jackets to a fifth-place overall finish.
Ross ended the tournament in fifth-place overall, and helped the Jackets to a score of 321 on the day. Senior Matt Gehring shot 79, while senior Brian Jones posted an 81 to continue the scoring. Sophomore Josh DeGroff fired 84 and senior Jared James shot 90 to round out the day for the Yellow Jackets. Playing as individuals were senior Trevor Ault and freshman Hurst Talbott, who both shot 84.
Ohio Northern University took the team title with a total score of 310. Northern's Colin Burns won medalist honors with a round of 73.
The Jackets return to the links at the DC Invitational on Sunday, September 18. Tee times begin at 9:30 am.
