Defiance Takes Ninth at Hanover Spring Invitational
HANOVER, Ind. – The Defiance College men’s golf team played through wet and soggy conditions on Sunday while completing the two-day Hanover Spring Invitational.
HANOVER, Ind. – The Defiance College men's golf team played through wet and soggy conditions on Sunday while completing the two-day Hanover Spring Invitational. The Jackets ended with a score of 676 over the two days to finish in ninth place in the team standings.
Jace Neal was DC's top performer with a total of 164 and a finish in 34th position. Brian Jones was next for Defiance, finishing in 42nd with a total of 167.
Thomas More held off Franklin and Anderson to claim the team championship with a 620. The Grizzlies ended five strokes back with a 625 and AU carded a 628 to end in third place.
Transylvania's Justin Tereshko competed as an individual and led all golfers with a 147 over the 36 holes of action to claim medalist honors.
Defiance will continue its spring schedule on Saturday, April 3, when it competes in the OSU-Marion Invitational beginning at 11:00 am. The tournament will be an 18-hole competition.
