Wolfrum Highlights Trio of Jackets on All-HCAC Squad
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference released its 2013 Men’s Basketball All-HCAC Team on Tuesday. Logan Wolfrum was honored for the fourth time in as many years, while Ryan Hicks netted his first All-HCAC nod and Travis Schomaeker was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Wolfrum, Hicks and Schomaeker were in the starting lineup together for 20 of the final 22 games during the 2012-2013 season and accounted for nearly 56 percent of DC's scoring on the year.
The trio helped Defiance to a 16-11 overall clip that was highlighted by an 11-3 mark inside the Karl H. Weaner Community Center, a trip to the HCAC Tournament Semifinals and a seventh-straight season without a losing record.
Wolfrum earned his third-straight First-Team All-HCAC nod and his fourth All-HCAC honor in as many seasons, in what figures to be the first of multiple postseason honors for the Defiance, Ohio, native this year. Wolfrum ended the season ranked first among all eligible HCAC players with 18.7 points per game and a 45.2-percent rating from beyond the arc, while also ranking second with a 1.4 assist-to-turnover ratio, third with 3.5 assists per game and fourth with 4.7 defensive rebounds per showing.
Along with sitting at or near the top of the league in a host of statistical categories, Wolfrum earned spots on the HCAC, Purple and Gold and Marietta All-Tournament Teams, was a two-time HCAC Player of the Week and was named to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week one time. Wolfrum's best accomplishment came in becoming DC's most prolific scorer at the NCAA Division III level and ending second in the program's all-time history with 1,813 career points.
Hicks was named Honorable Mention All-HCAC for the first postseason accolade of his three-year career with the Purple and Gold. The Port Clinton, Ohio, native started 25-of-27 contests and set career-highs with 12.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.1 blocks and 0.9 steals per outing. Hicks also set a personal-best by shooting 55.3 percent from the field and notched three double-double showings during his standout junior season.
Schomaeker was named to the HCAC's All-Sportsmanship Team, after starting the final 22 games of his sophomore season for DC. The Ottawa, Ohio, native excelled in the expanded role by netting over 8.5 points per night for the Yellow Jackets while in the starting lineup.
Defiance is set to return five players from this season's roster who averaged at least 8.0 points per game, including four starters for the 2013-2014 campaign.
