GREENWOOD, Ind. – Defiance College's Logan Wolfrum recorded his fourth collegiate double-double and helped the Yellow Jackets post a 75-58 home victory against Hanover on his way to being named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Week for the eighth time in his career.
Wolfrum averaged a double-double for the week with 23.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.5 steals per outing with Anderson and HC, while shooting 48.5 percent from the floor and 41.7 percent from three-point range.
The senior guard opened the week with a 32-point, 12-board, six-assist effort at Anderson and poured in 28 second-half points to help the Jackets nearly overcome a 16-point first-half deficit. Wolfrum then went for 15 points and nine rebounds in a 75-58 victory against Hanover, as DC held a share of the lead for the entire 40 minutes and handed the Panthers their lowest scoring output of the season.
Wolfrum continued his assault on the DC record books with the strong week, climbing two more spots into 14th on Defiance's all-time scoring list with 1,450 points and moving into third place on the program's all-time assists chart with 320.
The Ayersville High product is now averaging 20.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 0.6 blocks per contest and is the only player in the HCAC to rank among the league's top-10 performers in all four categories.
Wolfrum and the Jackets (3-4, 1-2 HCAC) will host Kalamazoo (2-5, 0-0 MIAA) on Thursday evening at 7:30 pm, before getting back into league play on Saturday with a 4:00 pm tip against Franklin (4-3, 2-1 HCAC).
