Wolfrum started the week with a game-high 18 points at Earlham, helping Defiance to a 68-57 victory for its first true road win of the year and then poured in 40 points in a 94-92 overtime win at Franklin. The sophomore point guard netted 28 of his 40 after the half and knocked in the game-winning shot with 1.6 seconds left in the extra session to power the Jackets to their fourth-straight victory.
For the week Wolfrum averaged 29.0 points per game, while hitting 60.0 percent of his attempts from three-point range and 48.4 percent from the field. The Defiance, Ohio, native also sank 22-of-26 free throws in the two contests and added 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals per outing.
Wolfrum currently ranks 12th in the nation with 22.8 points per game and has surpassed the 20-point mark in eight of Defiance's 16 games during the 2010-2011 campaign, while reaching double figures in all but one.
Wolfrum and the Jackets (10-6, 5-4 HCAC) will open the second wave of league games when they host Rose-Hulman (11-5, 5-4 HCAC) on Saturday at 3:00 pm. The Jackets fell, 74-66, at R-H back on December 4, in what was DC's poorest shooting performance and Wolfrum's lowest scoring output of the season.
