Defiance Draws UW-Whitewater in NCAA's Opening Round
DEFIANCE, Ohio – Just two days after winning the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championship and punching its ticket to the NCAA Division III National Tournament, Defiance learned of its opening round draw on Monday morning.

The Yellow Jackets were selected to compete at Wooster, Ohio, on the campus of the College of Wooster. Defiance (23-5) will play the No. 8 Warhawks of UW-Whitewater in the opening round on Friday. UW-Whitewater went 22-5 overall and will be making its 16th appearance into the national tournament in search of its third national championship.
Wooster (23-5) and Grove City (19-8) will play in the 8:00 pm game on Friday, with the two opening round winners then squaring off on Saturday at 7:00 pm in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The winner of Saturday's game will then advance into the Sweet 16 at a location to be determined.
Tickets for the weekend games will go on sale at the door, beginning at 4:30 pm on Friday. Defiance will have 503 tickets available for its fans. Prices are $6 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens.
