The NABC All-Midwest District award is another in what has become a steady string of postseason honors for Pettaway since leading Defiance to an 18-9 regular season mark. The Toledo, Ohio, native has already earned All-Midwest Region honors from D3Hoops.com and was named First-Team All-HCAC for the third-straight season.
Along with helping the Jackets to their third-straight season with at least 17 victories, Pettaway set new career highs in points, rebounds, assists and blocks during his final collegiate campaign. His 16.8 points, 9.5 boards and 1.1 blocks per night led all DC players and allowed Pettaway to rank near the top of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in all three categories, while also completing his four-year assault on the Defiance record books.
Pettaway ended his four-year career with 1,477 points, 75 blocks, 767 rebounds and 617 made shots. Those totals rank Pettaway 11th in scoring, second in blocks, sixth in rebounds and sixth in made field goals in DC history.
The NABC All-District teams are selected and voted on by the member coaches of the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
