Longsdorf was one of four Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standouts to be recognized by D3football.com, joining Anderson's junior cornerback, Jared Millikan, and Franklin's senior center, Chad Schenkel, on the Third-Team, while FC's senior signal caller, Kyle Ray, was tabbed First-Team at the quarterback position.
Along with joining the previous 48 All-Americans at Defiance College since 1955, Longsdorf became Defiance's first since Luke Dillon was named Honorable Mention All-America in 2007. The London, Ohio, native is also the program's first student-athlete to be placed as high as Third-Team All-America since Nate Schaublin earned Second-Team honors in 2001.
Longsdorf led all NCAA Division III defensive backs with 139 tackles during his final collegiate regular season, while leading all HCAC defenders and placing fourth among all NCAA D-III performers in that statistic. Longsdorf added 4.5 sacks and four interceptions to his impressive stat line, on his way to taking HCAC Defensive Most Valuable Player, Second-Team All-Ohio, Second-Team All-North Region and Third-Team All-American honors.
