Foos earned the preseason honor after serving as the Jackets' primary kicker and punter as a sophomore in 2008. Foos was named First-Team All-HCAC and Second-Team All-Ohio one year ago after ranking second in the HCAC and 34th in the nation with his average of 38.6 yards per punt. The special teams' ace stuck seven of his 57 punts inside the 20-yard line and sailed three boots of over 50 yards.
Nicol will look to anchor the DC offensive line once again and will do so as a preseason Second-Team All-Ohio selection. The rising senior was named Second-Team All-HCAC as a junior after helping Defiance top the 150-yard barrier on the ground four times, while averaging 173.5 rushing yards per game over DC's last six.
Supan joined Nicol as a preseason Second-Team All-Ohio selection after being named Second-Team All-HCAC in 2008. The rising senior will look to improve on a standout junior campaign in which he piled up 45 tackles, eight passes defended and two interceptions from his cornerback position.
Foos, Nicol and Supan will look to lead the Purple and Gold to a fifth-straight finish of third place or higher in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference when the 2009 season gets underway. The team is set to report to camp on August 11.
