Dillon and Snyder Named to All-North Region Team
DEFIANCE, Ohio -- Defiance Colleges Luke Dillon and Keith Snyder have been named to 2007 All-North Region Team as announced by www.D3football.com on Monday afternoon. The honor comes on the heels of the two players being named First Team All-HCAC.
DEFIANCE, Ohio -- Defiance Colleges Luke Dillon and Keith Snyder have been named to 2007 All-North Region Team as announced by www.D3football.com on Monday afternoon. The honor comes on the heels of the two players being named First Team All-HCAC.
Dillon bolsters his already lengthy resume with the First Team All-North Region selection, after ending his senior campaign with 93 receptions for 1,241 yards and 14 touchdowns. Along with setting new single-season and single-game records for catches, yards and touchdowns for DC this season, Dillon also finished as the schools all-time record holder with 28 career receiving touchdowns. The Temperance, Mich., native ranked sixth in the nation with 9.3 catches and 124.1 yards per game and recently capped his record-shattering season when he caught a pair of passes in the Aztec Bowl in Chihuahua, Mexico to help Team USA secure a 37-19 victory. Dillon was a three-time HCAC Offensive Player of the Week in 2007, was voted as the leagues Male Athlete of the Month for September and October and was tabbed as the HCAC Co-Offensive Most Valuable Player.
Snyder was named Third Team All-North Region, closing out his junior season as DCs leading tackler from his free safety position. The Martin, Mich., native picked up 10-or-more tackles seven times in 2007 and ended the season ranking third among all HCAC players with a career-best 111 total hits. Snyder also set a new personal best with 62 solo tackles and added 5.5 hits for lost yardage, three interceptions and five passes defended. Snyders best performance of the season came against Franklin when he tied a school record with three interceptions, tallied a game-high 10 tackles and was named to the www.D3football.com Team of the Week.
Dillon and Snyder helped lead Defiance to a 5-5 overall record and a third-place finish in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
