Baseball Drops Single Game to Bluffton

DC took the early lead in the top of the first after Tim Pitro singled and later scored on a David Jackson double. After Bluffton plated three in the bottom half of the frame, the Jackets pushed across another run in the second, as Trey Harris scored on a single off the bat of Ben Gates.
Defiance struck again in the fifth inning after Casey Kahsen doubled down the left field line and raced home off a double by Kirk Jesse. The run brought DC to within one at 4-3, but would be the last of the game for the Jackets.
Bluffton (10-13, 4-7 HCAC) pushed its lead to 5-3 with a run in the sixth inning and busted the game open with three more in the bottom of the eighth.
DC (4-13, 0-8 HCAC) will be back in action on Friday when it begins a three-game set at Hanover College.
