Miller Leads Defiance at NCAA Regionals
TERRE HAUTE, IND. – The Defiance College women’s cross country team took three individuals to Terre Haute, Ind. to compete in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Cross Country meet hosted by Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology.
TERRE HAUTE, IND. – The Defiance College women's cross country team took three individuals to Terre Haute, Ind. to compete in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Cross Country meet hosted by Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology.
Eme Miller (Portland, Ind. /Jay County) set the pace for the Yellow Jackets, finishing 13th overall with a time of 22:26.7 and earned All-Region honors with her finish. Junior Kayla Miller (Wadsworth) had the second quickest time for the Yellow Jackets with 30:37.2. Senior Waverly Weaks (Liberty Center) crossed the line third for Defiance, finishing in a time of 31:15.4.
The top two finishing teams in the Great Lakes Regional receive automatic qualification to the NCAA Division III National Championships. The remaining teams will move into the at-large pool, where ultimately 16 teams will qualify for the National Championships. The top seven finishing runners on teams that do not ultimately qualify for the NCAA Championships will qualify for next weekend's event. Miller will await to see her name on the qualifying list which will be released on Sunday (Nov. 15).
