ADA, Ohio – A day after DC's Kali George won the pentathlon at Cedarville, the Purple and Gold women's track and field team competed at the Ohio Northern Invitational on Saturday, February 2, 2013. Senior Katie Heitkamp led the way for the Jackets with a third-place finish in the pole vault.
Heitkamp cleared a height of 3.05 meters in the event. It was the best jump for the senior on the 2013 season and was just short of her indoor record.
Fellow senior Kate Borer also performed well at the invite. The Fayette, Ohio, native took part in the triple jump and recorded a 9.48 meter mark. The jump put her fourth at the competition and gave the senior a new season-best distance.
