DEFIANCE, Ohio – On this date, April 23, in recent Defiance College athletics history, a men’s golfer claimed a tournament championship and the softball team swept home Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheaders in back-to-back seasons. Also, the men’s tennis and baseball squads recorded two wins apiece in Defiance.

Golf teams travel before opening event, seasons canceled
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s and women’s golf teams were set to begin play during Spring Break in mid-March – even traveling to their opening event in North Carolina – before the coronavirus caused the cancellation of both the opening tournament and later their 2020 spring seasons.

Men’s golf picked eighth in 2020 HCAC preseason poll
CARMEL, Ind. – Heading into the upcoming spring season, the Defiance College men’s golf team is picked to finish eighth this year among the nine Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference squads, according to the 2020 HCAC Men’s Golf Preseason Poll. The poll was comprised in a vote of the conference’s head coaches and released by the HCAC office on Wednesday afternoon.

Clingaman Leads DC at the Defiance Fall Invitational
WAUSEON, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s golf team wrapped up the 2019 fall season on Saturday afternoon as they hosted the Defiance College Fall Invitational. A field of four schools took on two rounds at nearby Ironwood Golf Course.
