Lady Harriers Set Personal Records at Wilmington
WILMINGTON, Ohio – Sophomore Sadie Daeger led the way for the DC’s women’s cross country team Friday, October 12 at the Wilmington Fall Classic. The Defiance native was one of three runners to set career times on the day, as she bested her old record by 1:42 with a time of 21:59.48.

Daeger finished 205th of 340 runners at the event. Finishing second on the afternoon for Defiance was sophomore Bri Rodriguez who finished with a time of 22:29.58 and 229th overall.
The next two Yellow Jacket Harriers to cross the finish line both set season best times and just happened to have the same name. Junior Ericha Griep finished with a time of 22:35.01 for 236th overall and senior Erika Debos came in less than a half a second behind her at 22:35.42 for 238th place.
The last runners to finish for DC both set new personal best times as well. Senior Alisha Kazlausky broke her previous mark by over 1:10, as she ran the race in 22:49.93. Then sophomore Marissa Bussard finished at 23:52.41 for a new best time 56 seconds ahead of her old record.
Heading all of the teams on the day was Ashland University with a score of 82 points. Coming in just behind them was Huntington University with 109. Defiance finished 30th of 34 teams at the meet.
The Lady Harriers will get back in action on Saturday, October 27 when they travel to Bluffton for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. Action is set to begin at 11 a.m.
