Clements named Second Team All-HCAC
CARMEL, Ind. - Freshman Shelby Clements (Monrovia, Ind./Monrovia) was named Second Team All-HCAC as the league announced conference awards Tuesday morning.
The outside hitter played in 24 of the 26 matches and started 22 while leading the team in kills with 163 and finishing second on the team in kills per set with 2.01. Clements also ended the season with 491 total attacks which was the second-highest on the team.
The freshman added 10 assists and led the team in both points (195.5) and points per set (2.4). Clements tied for the team lead in service aces with 27. Defensively, she finished with 171 digs which was second-highest on the team and tallied seven total blocks with four being solo.
Clements produced her best offensive performance in a four-set home win against Kenyon on Oct. 4 and propelled the Yellow Jackets to victory in the match by finishing with a season-high 18 kills in the match and match-high hitting percentage of 0.432.
The volleyball team finished with an overall record of 4-22 and 0-9 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
