Tomoletz tabbed HCAC Defensive Player of the Week
CARMEL, Ind. – Defiance College sophomore Jaelyn Tomoletz was named HCAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts in a pair of conference matches.
The Perry, Ohio native has been on a tear stuffing opposing attacks at the net on her way to a first-career player of the week honor. On Wednesday versus Anderson, the former Second Team All-HCAC performer delivered three blocks. Then during a five-set loss at Franklin on Saturday, Tomoletz counted up four solo blocks and one assisted to total five for the match. In total, Tomoletz recorded a league-high eight blocks in two matches and averaged one per set for the week. The 5-10 middle hitter has racked up 16 blocks over the last six matches with a season-high five on October 18 against Earlham.
DC volleyball has two matches remaining on the schedule before closing the season this week. On Wednesday, the Jacket travel to Bluffton before hosting Mount St. Joseph for Senior Night on Saturday with a 6 p.m. start.
