Women's track places fifth, men sixth at Joe Banks Invite
The Defiance women’s track team placed fifth out of six teams at the Joe Banks Invite on Saturday while the men’s squad finished sixth out of six teams.

The Basics
- The event was hosted by Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio at the ONU Sports Center.
- Ohio Northern claimed the top spot in both the men's and women's competitions with 357.5 and 233 points respectively.
- Defiance finished fifth in the women's competition with 31 points and sixth in the men's with 24 points.
Notable Performances
- Freshman Traci Cross placed second in both the 60-meters and 200-meters with times of 8.06 seconds and 26.85 seconds.
- Senior Lisa Markau placed third in the 200-meters with a personal best time of 27.86 seconds and also took the bronze in the 60-meters with a time of 8.29 seconds.
- Senior Katelyn Smith ran a personal best in the mile to claim seventh place with a time of 6:07.88.
- Freshman Alexandria Ausmus placed eighth in the 800-meters with a time of 2:36.99.
- Junior Ja'Qway Janvier placed fourth in the 200-meters with a time of 23.35 seconds.
- Freshman Jalen Corbin placed fifth in the 200-meters with a time of 23.37 seconds.
- Sophomore John Reese finished seventh in the 800-meters with a time of 2:14.38.
- Sophomore Ron Scott finished sixth in the shot put with a throw of 12.16m.
- The 4x200 relay team of Janvier, Corbin, sophomore Alijah Fleming, and sophomore Tawon Cannon placed first with a time of 1:34.36.
