DC Drops Second Match of the Season
NEW CONCORD, OHIO – The Defiance College (0-2) women’s tennis team traveled to New Concord to take on Muskingum University (1-1) where they dropped the second match of the season by a match score of 7-2.

In doubles competition, Nicole Tank (Lincoln Park, Mich / Roosevelt) teamed up with Savannah Marquez (Porterville, Calif. / Porterville) at the first doubles spot and brought home their first career victory defeating their competition 8-6.
The second doubles team consisting of Bailey Marquez (Porterville, Calif. / Porterville) and Haley Kuhlman (Oregon/Clay) dropped the set 8-1, along with the third doubles team Colby Heeter (Bloomsburg, Pa. / Bloomsburg) and Courtney Alexander (Bristolville/Bristol) who dropped their set 8-2.
The Yellow Jackets were looking to turn things around going into singles play down 2-1, but came up empty-handed when all singles matches, besides Kuhlman at the third singles spot, went in favor of the Fighting Muskies.
Kuhlman earned her first win of the season at the third singles spot, when she defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-2.
The Purple & Gold will travel to N. Manchester, Ind. for a HCAC match-up against Manchester University Wednesday, Sept. 17. Match is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
