Women's soccer opens season with win over Andrews

The Defiance College women's soccer team defeated Andrews University 3-2 in their season opener on Wednesday evening.

Inside The Numbers

• Junior Ally Enneking netted a goal in the eighth minute to give the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 lead. The goal was the sixth of her career.
• The shots tied the game in the 24th minute off a goal from Rosa Ramos assisted by Milca Munoz.
• Sophomore Hallie Webb broke the tied with a goal in the 32nd minute that was assisted by Alana Harrison.
• Webb's goal and Harrison's assist were each the first of their careers.
• Junior Brianna Snider extended the Defiance lead to 3-1 with her fifth career goal just minutes before halftime.
• Sadie Flores cut the deficit in half for Andrews but the Cardinals could not complete the comeback.
• Harrison was credited with the win after logging 41:10 in net and stopping the only shot she faced.

• Defiance outshot Andrews 29-3 in the contest
• Enneking and sophomore Sarah O'Shea each tallied six shots.
• O'Shea and Snider each had three shots on goal
