First Half Woes Sink Women's Soccer

DELAWARE, OHIO - The Defiance College women's soccer team fell in non-conference action at Ohio Wesleyan Saturday afternoon, 6-0.
The Yellow Jackets were led in the contest by Sydney Hoiberg (Kingston Springs, Tenn./Harpeth) with a team-high four shots, one of which was on goal. As a team, Defiance finished with 12 shots, five of which were on net. Madi Bowman (Eaton) led the Yellow Jackets in frame with six saves on 12 shots.
Ohio Wesleyan dominated the first half scoring four goals on 14 shots. The Battling Bishops delivered the games first blow at the 6:34 mark to capture the 1-0 advantage. OWU continued to pressure the box scoring three more goals to enter the break leading 4-0.
In the second half, Ohio Wesleyan continued on the attack delivering back-to-back blows over a three minute span en route to the win. Emily Sheridan led the Battling Bishop with a hat-trick.
The Yellow Jackets return to the pitch Wednesday, September 20 as they travel to Mount Union. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
