Davis Leads DC to 15th Place Finish at Wilmington Fall Classic
WILMINGTON, Ohio – It was a personal record setting day for the Defiance men’s cross country team, as five harries set career times including Joe Davis, who finished first for DC and 29th of 380 runners with a time of 26:04.54. The team placed 15th of 34 teams at the meet.
WILMINGTON, Ohio – It was a personal record setting day for the Defiance men's cross country team, as five harries set career times including Joe Davis, who finished first for DC and 29th of 380 runners with a time of 26:04.54. The team placed 15th of 34 teams at the meet.
Davis paced the harries on the afternoon and finished with a new record that was 25 seconds quicker than his previous personal record, which he set at Wilmington last season. Finishing second for Defiance and a respectable 51st overall was senior Hayden Krick with a time of 26:30.68.
Other Yellow Jacket runners to set new career times were Madison Murphy (27:15.74 – 102nd) one second faster than his old personal best, Troy Parrett (28:06.61 – 176th), Adam Grillott (29:02.88 – 226th), and Andrew Senecal (29:31.63 – 242nd).
Ashland University placed first overall at the meet, as it literally ran away with the meet, by having its top five runners all place in the top 13 on the day.
DC will return to the course Saturday, October 27th when it heads to Bluffton for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
