Brown and Markau hit the record books at All-Ohio Championships
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Marlon Brown and Lisa-Maria Markau competed at the All-Ohio Championships Saturday afternoon at Wittenberg University. Marlon Brown breaking the school record for the indoor 400 meter dash highlighted the trip, while Markau tied the indoor school record in the 200 meter dash.
Brown broke the indoor school record for the 400 meter dash. He ran it in 49.07 seconds and is now the only man in school history to record the 400 meter dash in under 50 seconds. He also competed in the 400 meter dash and finished fifth.
Markau won her heat in the 60 meter prelims, running it in 8.01 seconds. In the 60 meter dash finals, she finished fifth. She was the D3 All-Ohio Champion in the 200 meter dash, completing it in a record tying time of 26.09 seconds.
Defiance track and field returns to action next Saturday, February 18 to compete in the Wittenberg Invitational hosted by Wittenberg University.
