Track and Field performs well at first home meet
The Defiance men's and women's track team hosted their first home meet of the year on Friday evening, facing off with HCAC foes Bluffton and Anderson, along with Lawrence Tech and Concordia Ann Arbor.

Notable Performances
- Freshman Traci Cross placed third in the women's 60-meters with a time of 8.12 seconds. In the preliminaries, Cross placed first in her heat with a time of 8.02, the second-fastest time in program history.
- Senior Lisa Markau placed fifth in the 60-meters with a time of 8.30 seconds after running an 8.24 in the preliminaries. Markau also placed fourth in the 200-meters with a time of 28.08 seconds.
- Freshman Ashanti Elkins finished second in the 200-meters with a time of 27.07.
- Freshman Alexandria Ausmus placed third in the 3000-meters with a time of 12:45.33 while Katelyn Smith placed fourth with a time of 12:51.21. Smith placed fourth in the high jump.
- Junior Ja'Qway Janvier placed second in the men's 60-meters with a time of 7.08 seconds.
- Sophomore John Reese had a strong performance in the 3000-meters, placing second with a time of 9:49.84
