Men's golf continues busy week at Trine's AC Eddy Invitational
ANGOLA, Ind. - Defiance College men's golf continued their three-tournament week with a stop at the Trine's AC Eddy Invitational held at Zollner Golf Course on Tuesday. As a group, the Yellow Jackets shot 375 and finished 14th among 15 groupings.
Bretton Basford continued to play solid golf with a spring-best round of 86 that featured a birdie on the 12th hole. Fellow freshman Sam Boyles matched Basford's top score on the team with an even round that boasted 11 pars. He also had the team's best front-nine score of 42.
Zach Canterbury turned in a card of 96 that included a birdie on the 17th. Will Garlock compiled a 107 to round out the team's scores.
Huntington claimed the tournament victory with a team round of 293, beating Lourdes by six strokes. Individually, Rochester's Marc Bofarull and Trine's Carter Schnipke were tied atop the leaderboard with even par rounds of 71.
The next turn on the course for Defiance is the Yellow Jackets Spring Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Moose Landing in Kalida.
