Men's Golf Finishes Second at Wabash Invitational
CRAWFORDSVILLE, IND. -- The Defiance College men's golf team capped a successful fall season with a second place finish at the Wabash (Ind.) College Fall Golf Classic at the Crawfordsville Country Club in Crawfordsville, Ind.
CRAWFORDSVILLE, IND. -- The Defiance College men's golf team capped a successful fall season with a second place finish at the Wabash (Ind.) College Fall Golf Classic at the Crawfordsville Country Club in Crawfordsville, Ind.
The Yellow Jackets posted a two-day total of 613 strokes (301+312=613) to place second of four teams. Franklin (Ind.) College came in first in the team standings with a tournament-total 593 strokes (294+299=593) and host school Wabash rounded out the top-three with 644 strokes (321+323=644).
Senior Jake Tinsley (Eaton) led DC individually with rounds of 70 and 76 strokes for a total of 146 strokes to place in a tie for second overall. Junior Tyson Bostelman (Archbold) and senior Derek Lucas (Eaton) both ended the tournament with a total of 156 strokes to finish in a tie for second on the team. Bostelman carded rounds of 79 and 77 strokes, while Lucas shot a 75 and 81.
Junior Alex Miday (Canton/St. Thomas) finished a stroke behind Bostelman and Lucas with a two-day total of 157 strokes after rounds of 79 and 78 strokes. Fellow junior Adam McGinnis (Bloomville/Buckeye Central) completed the list of team-eligible scores with 163 total strokes (77+86=163).
In addition, sophomore Drake Moening (Defiance) competed as an individual and ended the tournament with 177 strokes (90+87=177).
