Baseball drops road decision to Albion
Albion, Mich. - Despite committing four errors, Albion was able to work around and out of jams a few times Wednesday afternoon and defeated the Yellow Jackets, 4-1. Albion improves to 2-11 and Defiance drops to 3-10.

Trent Murdock reached on an error to load the bases with one out in the first but Hunter Bostater grounded into a double play to end the inning. That would be the greatest scoring opportunity for both teams through the first three innings as the two teams remained scoreless after three.
Alex Morr singled with two outs in the fourth but Gunner Gregg was thrown out at home to end the inning. The first four batters reached safely for Albion in the bottom of the fourth and they would take a 3-0 lead as Braeden Emery had an RBI single and Austyn Stephens followed with a two-run single.
Tyler Dehan scored on an error for Defiance's only run of the game. Austyn Stephens answered with another RBI single to give Albion a 4-1 advantage.
The Yellow Jackets brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth. Tim Bobek led off the inning with a single and Mitchell Roever would also single with one out to put two runners on. Josh Vischer and Gunner Gregg would both fly out to end the game.
Gregg finished with two hits and drew the only walk of the game. Dylan King and Jacob Hild both spent time at catcher. Ryker Mazey Austyn Stephens had two hits for the Britons and Stephens drove in three.
Baseball hosts Rose-Hulman to begin conference play on Sunday at Craig A. Rutter Field. Game one first pitch is set for 12 p.m. with game two to follow.
