DEFIANCE, Ohio – On this final day of the month, March 31, in Defiance College athletics history, the baseball and men’s tennis teams came from behind to post road wins in 2010 and 2014, respectively. The baseball squad defeated Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Bluffton University, 5-2, while Defiance was a 5-4 winner over Indiana University East on the tennis courts.

The baseball squad defeated Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Bluffton University, 5-2, while Defiance was a 5-4 winner over Indiana University East on the tennis courts.
A decade ago in Bluffton, Ohio, the Yellow Jackets trailed, 2-0, before tallying three runs in the third inning and two in the fourth to conclude the scoring. Nick Bratt pitched a complete game for the victory, scattering eight hits with just one walk over nine innings. The offense was led by Brent Kremer, who had two hits including a two-run double, and Alex Timofeev, who went 2 for 3 with a walk and an RBI.
On a Monday six years ago, DC overcame a 4-1 deficit to edge NAIA member IU East in Richmond, Indiana, and start a five-match winning streak. James DeMeo and Tory Savage teamed up for a doubles win and both were victorious in singles. Two others who came out on top in singles play were Ryan Nelson and Justin Walker.
