Cross country competes EIU Walt Crawford Open
The Defiance College men’s and women’s cross country competed on Friday evening at the Eastern Illinois University Walt Crawford Open. The event was the first cross country competition or Defiance since 2019.

The Course
- The meet was held at the Tom Woodall Panther Trail on the EIU campus
- The hosting Panthers won both the men's and the women's event
Results
- Freshman Alexandria Ausmus was the top finisher for the DC women with a time of 21:51.46 good for 30th place.
- Sophomore John Reese paced the men with a time of 31:52.64 for 39th place.
- Senior Katelyn Smith was the second finisher for the women with a time of 23:03.91.
- Freshman Juan Perez placed 46th with a time of 42:12.44.
