Men's track places 11th, women 16th at UC Invite
The Defiance men's track and field team placed 11th out of 17 teams at the Pepsi UC Invite & Distance Carnival hosted by the University of the Cumberlands.
The Defiance men's track and field team placed 11th out of 17 teams at the Pepsi UC Invite & Distance Carnival hosted by the University of the Cumberlands.
The Basics
- The two-day event has held in Williamsburg, Ky.
- The hosts won both the men's and women's events.
Notable Performances
- Sophomore Tawon Cannon won the men's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.16 seconds while sophomore John Reese placed fifth in the event.
- Freshman Traci Cross placed fourth in the women's 100-metes with a time of 12.61 seconds.
- Reese also placed fifth in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:40.56.
- The men's 4x100 relay team of Ja'Qway Janvier, Gavin Maratea, Deuntray Drennon, and Cannon finished fifth with a time of 46.20 seconds.
- Senior Lisa Markau placed sixth in the women's 200-meters with a time of 27.71 seconds.
- Sophomore Ron Scott finished seventh in the men's shot put with a mark of 11.66m.
