Bowman, Trimpey Post Strong Performances in HCAC Championship

DEFIANCE, OHIO - The Defiance College women's track and field team hosted the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday afternoon at the George M. Smart Center led by Madi Bowman in the weight throw.
Rose-Hulman won the team title with 163 points, while Hanover took second with 131.5 points.
Bowman led the way for the Yellow Jackets winning the weight throw with a toss of 15.76 meters, while also taking fifth in the shot put with a distance of 10.92 meters.
In the pole vault, Meagan Trimpey finished fourth overall with a new school record height of 3.27 meters, breaking the previous school record of 3.20 meters set in 2013.
The Yellow Jackets finished 10th overall with 20 team points.
The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday, February 23 as they travel to Anderson for the Fred Wilt Last Chance Meet.
