TOLEDO, OHIO -- The Defiance College women's track and field team sent a pair of throwers to the University of Toledo Invitational on Thursday as they opened their last chance meets at the Rocket Invitational.
Seniors Hannah Williams (Swanton) and Brooke Waidelich (Pettisville) each competed in the hammer and discus throw competitions.
In the discus, Williams placed 12th in a field of primarily Div. I athletes with a toss of 3.931 meters (130 feet, 11 inches), while she placed 16th in the hammer throw with a toss of 45.29 meters (148 feet, 7 inches).
Waidelich placed 16th in the discus with a throw of 37.47 meters (122 feet, 11 inches), while she placed 20th in the hammer throw of 38.07 meters (124 feet, 11 inches).
Defiance will look to continue last chance meet action on Friday, May 11 at the Harrison Dillard Twilight at Baldwin Wallace University.
