Women's Tennis Concludes Regular Season at MSJ
CINCINNATI, Ohio. – The Defiance College women's tennis team wrapped up regular-season action with a weekend trip to Mount Saint Joseph on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets took one singles match, falling to the Cougars 8-1.
CINCINNATI, Ohio. – The Defiance College women's tennis team wrapped up regular-season action with a weekend trip to Mount Saint Joseph on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets took one singles match, before falling to the Lions 8-1.
Doubles action saw the Lions take control. AJ Breneman (Bryan, Ohio / Bryan) and Alexa St. Julian (Oregon, Ohio / Clay) battled the home side duo and were able to grab four games before falling to their Mount St. Joseph opponent 8-4 at No. 1 doubles.
In singles play, Julian was able to grab a few games from her competitor before falling 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Sydney Huston (Indianapolis, Ind. / Lawrence) stole four games from her opponent before suffering the 6-2, 6-2 loss at No. 4 singles. Breneman tallied the lone win for the Jackets at No. 1, outscoring her opponent 6-1 and 6-0.
This concludes the Yellow Jackets' regular season, finishing with a season record of 3-10 and a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference record of 2-6.
