DC Falls to the Red Wolves
RICHMOND, IND. – The Defiance College women’s tennis team traveled to Richmond, Ind. to face Indiana University-East in non-conference play and fell to the Red Wolves by a match score of 6-3.
RICHMOND, IND. – The Defiance College women's tennis team traveled to Richmond, Ind. to face Indiana University-East in non-conference play and fell to the Red Wolves by a match score of 6-3.
The Yellow Jacket (4-10) second doubles team of senior Haley Kuhlman (Oregon/Clay) and freshman Danielle Vance (Defiance) was the only doubles team to defeat their Red Wolf (4-5) opponent. They finished ahead by a score of 8-5. As a duo they move to a 5-9 overall record for the season.
In singles play, victories came from the second and third singles spots. Freshman Hannah Hesterman (Archbold) played the second slot and won by a score of 6-2, 6-4. Hesterman currently leads the Yellow Jackets with a 7-7 overall record. Kuhlman earned her second victory of the day at the third singles spot, quickly taking care of her opponent 6-3, 6-1.
Defiance returns to action tomorrow (Oct. 10) when they host Franklin (Ind.) College in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup. First serve is set for noon.
