Jackets Wrap-up Home Slate with Match Against Thomas More

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College women's tennis team has just two matches remaining on its 2010 schedule after wrapping up the home slate with a bout against Thomas More College on Sunday. The Jackets dropped the match, 8-1, as they fell to 0-6 at home for the season.

DC's Kirsten Wieland recorded the Yellow Jackets' lone victory of the match with a win in No. 1 singles against Thomas More's Lauren Race. Race entered the match on a four-match winning streak, but could not hang with Wieland, who picked up her fourth win in the number-one spot for Defiance this season.

Danielle LaBarbera recorded four points in her No. 6 singles match against TMC's Brittney Knapp, while Catie Savage tallied three points in the No. 2 singles match for Defiance.

The Yellow Jackets will wrap up their fall season with a pair of matches on Tuesday, September 28 at Ohio Northern University. Defiance will play against ONU at 2:00 p.m., and finish with a match against Sinclair Community College at 4:00 p.m.
