Women's soccer defeated by Franklin

The Defiance women's soccer team was defeated by Franklin, 5-0 on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

Inside The Numbers

• Sophomore Sarah O'Shea made 10 saves for the Yellow Jackets.
• Abby Holmer led the Franklin attack with eight shots while Maddie Alexander recorded five shots.
• Riley Rice earned the win for the Grizzlies after playing the first half in net. She was relieved by Makenna Mundy who played the whole second half.

The Difference

• Lilly Haines gave the Grizzlies a 2-0 lead with a pair of goals in the first 16 minutes of the game. Elaina Page assisted with each of the goals.
• Abby Hensley extended the lead to 3-0 in the 31st minute thanks to a Claire Hurley assist. 
• Holmer netted the fourth Franklin goal in the 61st minute while Hensley provided the assist.
• Page added a goal for her own in the 76th minute and Hensley and Mackenzie Yoder teamed up for the rear double assist.
