DC (2-6) fell to the home squad by a count of 1-0.
The Yellow Jackets pushed the issue to start the match, keeping the pressure on Oberlin's (4-3) defense in the early going.
Erica Islas (Lockhart, Texas / Lockhart) took the game's first shot on goal at the 18 minute mark. Oberlin's goalie was able to stop the threat though keeping the score 0-0.
A short five minutes later the Yeowomen put a shot on goal of their own before Meredith Remy (Mansfield, Ohio / Ontario) made the stop, marking her first collegiate save.
The freshman duo of Katie McGlacken (Canton, Mich. / Canton) and Kassie Memmer (Bowling Green, Ohio / Bowling Green) put a shot on goal each in the first half as well, but both were denied by Oberlin.
At the thirty minute mark, the Yeowomen were able to find net to take the 1-0 lead. That strike would be the game winner and mark the final score.
Remy and her defense kept the Yellow Jackets within a goal the rest of the way, shutting out the Oberlin offense the entire second half.
Melina Alexander (Clio, Mich. / Clio Area) put another threat on the home team's defense late in the game. She took a shot with 10 minutes remaining that required a save from Oberlin.
DC was not able to find the equalizing goal in the second half, falling to Oberlin by a 1-0 final score.
Remy was able to save six shots in her first start for the Yellow Jackets, totaling for a .857 save percentage.
The Yellow Jackets seven game road trip will conclude on Saturday when they head to Berea, Ohio to face off against Baldwin Wallace. Start time is set to kickoff at 1:00 pm.
