BLUFFTON, Ohio – The women's soccer team grabbed their first conference victory of the season on Tuesday, defeating Bluffton University 2-1. The victory improves the Yellow Jackets to 4-8 overall and 1-3 in the HCAC.
Alexandra Johnson recorded the first goal of the game when she found the net from the far right wing midway through the first half to give the Jackets a one point advantage. Cherylin Borkholder would put the Jackets up 2-0 as she recorded her sixth goal of the season ten minutes into the second stanza. The Beavers attempted a late rally, recording a goal with eight minutes remaining to bring them within one, but the Yellow Jackets' defense held strong to preserve the victory.
