ALMA, Mich. – The Defiance women's soccer team dropped a 7-1 decision to Alma College on Wednesday, falling to 3-4 on the season. The seven points scored by Alma matched the highest amount of points allowed in a game by the Yellow Jackets' defense this season.
Lauren Ranalli recorded DC's only goal on the night, as she scored in the 34th minute to cut the Scots lead to 3-1. Alma, who out-shot Defiance 34-9 on the night, would score once more before the half and three times in the second stanza to run away with the victory.
The Yellow Jackets open up conference play on Saturday, September 26, when they travel to Lexington, Ky., for a match against league leading Transylvania University. The game is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
