Yellow Jackets compete in the Mount Union invitational
ALLIANCE, Ohio- The Defiance College wrestling program traveled to the University of Mount Union on Saturday to compete in the Mount Union Invitational.
ALLIANCE, Ohio- The Defiance College wrestling program traveled to the University of Mount Union on Saturday to compete in the Mount Union Invitational. Each of the Yellow Jackets competed in either a freshman or sophomore division at the invitational.
Alejandro Castro (Cromwell, Ind./ Wawasee) and Mason Morris (Grove City, Ohio / Central Crossing) led the way for Defiance, each placing third in their weight class. Castro wrestled in 165 weight class recording three wins, including a 10-1 decision over his Urbana opponent to secure the 3rd place finish.
Morris wrestled in the 197 weight class tallying three wins and a 9-4 decision in his final match of the day. Also placing in the 197 weight class was Wes Bok (Defiance, Ohio / Fairview), who finished in 6th place.
Raymier Hickerson (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/ Cleveland Heights) finished in 4th place in the 133 weight class with two wins, including a 15-9 win over his opponent form Adrian.
Defiance also saw three sixth place finishes from Alex Smith (Castalia, Ohio / Sandusky St. Mary's) in the 141 weight class, Keringten Martin (Houston, Ohio / Covington) in the 157 weight class, and Hunter McNutt (Oregon, Ohio / Clay) in the 184 weight class.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Saturday, November 16, as they compete in the Case Western Invite, slated for an 11:00 am start.
