Wrestling Faces Tough Field at Wheaton
WHEATON, ILL. - The Defiance College wrestling program headed west this past weekend as they traveled to Wheaton College to take on a talented field at the Pete Wilson Wheaton Invitational. The Yellow Jackets finished 35th of 38 in the highly competitive field.

Rosendo Beltran (Toledo / Central Catholic) led the Yellow Jackets, finding his way into the third round. The freshman grabbed an exciting one point victory in the first round, before winning my major decision in his second bout.
Alex Smith (Castalia / Sandusky St. Mary's) grabbed a victory in the consolation bracket of the 141 weight class, defeating his opponent by fall in just 1 minute and five seconds.
Cortez Bradley (Garfield / Warrensville Heights) grabbed another win, picking up an 11-5 decision victory in the consolation bracket of the 149 pound class.
Devonte Gaskill (Niles, Mich. / Niles) wrapped up the victories for DC, defeating his counterpart 9-6 in the third round of the consolation bracket of 157.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action Saturday, Feb. 2 as they head Case Western as they take on the Spartans and KSU Tuscarawas. The contests are slated to begin at 12:00 pm.
